Within the PunjabiShelf app, we use similar technologies like Local Storage and Secure Tokens to achieve the same purpose without placing traditional web cookies in your browser.
How We Use Them
PunjabiShelf uses cookies and local storage strictly for Essential Purposes. We do not use non-essential or advertising cookies.
- Authentication: Keeping you logged in securely so you don't have to enter your password every time you open the app.
- Preferences: Remembering if you prefer Dark Mode or Light Mode in the app.
- Reading Progress: Saving your bookmarks and the last page you read locally on your device for a smooth reading experience.
Third-Party Cookies
We use trusted third-party services that may set cookies or use similar tracking technologies within the app environment:
- Google Firebase: Sets essential security tokens for account authentication and crash analytics to help us fix bugs.
These third parties are strictly bound by their privacy policies and do not share your data for external advertising.
Managing Your Cookies
Since the majority of our data storage happens within the PunjabiShelf Android app (via Local Storage), you have full control over it directly from your device:
- Clear App Data: You can go to your Android device settings > Apps > PunjabiShelf > Storage > "Clear Data" or "Clear Cache" to remove all local storage and preferences.
- Sign Out: Simply tapping "Sign Out" within the app will clear your authentication tokens.
